The bomb-detecting dogs were responsible for saving the lives of countless soldiers deployed in Afghanistan. The dogs and their handlers were always in danger of getting blown away by the bombs they were trying to locate. They were also always under enemy fire, which made it harder for them to work.
The bond that the dogs and their handlers form is strong, and they often depend on each other to keep each other safe. A marine corporal named Megan Leavey knows what it’s like to be a dog handler in Afghanistan. Marine Corporal Megan Leavey was assigned as a handler of a bomb-detecting dog named Rex. Their friendship and unbreakable bond was the subject of a movie called Meagan Leavey.
