Rookie find comfort in his Cow mom and shows her affection every chance he gets. The owner is concerned that Rookie will lose his dog instincts because he spends so much time with the cows.
He’s been living in the Barn for two years and barely spends time with the owner. Rookie loves hanging around his cow mom all day. You can see from their interaction that she treats him like a son. Just like a small puppy playing with their mother, Rookie can be seen in the video jumping on his Cow mother and she just looks as him like “what are you doing son?”. Its so sweet. However, their two years of togetherness was about to change. His cow mom was about to be sold.
A change is coming
Unfortunately, the owner decided to sell Rookies mom. I’m sure Rookie would not take this too well. Just like humans, dogs also experience separation anxiety from loved ones which can manifest in a number of ways. On this blog I have covered a story of a dog that hugged his moms clothes while she was at work and another dog who had to be comforted by his cat sibling when their parents were gone. These are situations where the parents always returned. SO what will happen to Rookie if they sell her forever? He will be so heartbroken. Separating Rookie from his Cow mom would be traumatic for him.
Sure enough, on the end of the first video, you will see that the owner started the sale process and took the cow mom to another location. Rookie can be seen barking, sad and concerned. He was in tears. “Where is my momma?” was written all over his little face. Poor guy!
I Have to Find Mommy!
Rookie sat in the barn crying and waiting for his Cow mom to come back. He even came out of the barn door and cried out for his Cow mom to come back. When he didn’t get a response, the little pooch decided to take action. He leaves the barn to go look for his mom. Someone called after Rookie but he didn’t listen. He was on a mission and would not come back until he found his Cow Mama!
