Finally Found….12 Years Later
After 12 years of not knowing the whereabouts of Dutchess, there was a breakthrough. A rescuer found Dutchess hiding underneath a shed in Carnegie Pennsylvania. Why she was there or how she managed to be over 1,000 miles from her Florida home isn’t clear. The rescuer then took her to the Pittsburgh’s Humane Animal Rescue where she received some food and much needed TLC. It wasn’t until the staff scanned her microchip that they discovered that Strang was the owner. They also discovered that she was more than 1,000 miles away from home and she hadn’t been there in 12 years.
The shelter reached out to Strang to report that they had found Dutchess. Strang could not believe her ears. She was happy but shocked that after 12 years, her beloved Dutchess had finally been found. Strang was so happy. She later drove 18 hours to the shelter in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania from Florida to pick up Dutchess. You can see their reunion on Facebook below.

Strang is happy to have Dutchess home with her family and other furry brothers and sisters. She will finally get the TLC and care she needs. She must had gone through alot in the 12 years she had been gone. This is such a beautiful ending to an initially tragic event.
