The pandemic restrictions that have been imposed throughout the country mean that Major League Soccer fans will have to watch the upcoming soccer games outside of the sporting venues. But there is also a positive side to this story. Philadelphia Union, an MLS organization, and Subaru, one of the soccer teams in the league, are using the empty seats in the stadium to find forever homes for shelter animals.
Subaru is soon going to host its first game in the newly renamed Subaru Park with the addition of a special cheering section in the stadium.
Team management announced that they would be hoisting the pictures of adoptable shelter dogs in the stands. The cardboard cutouts of the canines would act as the crowd during the game. Hopefully, the actual animals will have much to cheer about after finding their forever homes.
