When finally the two pairs met again, Falcione couldn’t believe her own eyes. She quickly embraced the missing dog as she ensured it was the real Porschia she took care of for almost 16 years.
Falcione once said that Porschia was a dog with a strong will to live as it endured the bitterly cold weather alone.
Regarding the hawk attack, Hawk Mountain, the world’s oldest refuge for birds prey, stated that it was impossible for the hawks to carry Porschia and brought it somewhere.
They believe the theory according to the literature that even the largest raptors can only bear a maximum of 4 pounds. Yet, most of the time, their prey is only 1 to 1.5 pounds. However, Porschia was reported as 6 ½ pounds; on that ground, raptors should not be in the list of suspected culprits.
In any case, prevention should be the highest priority before anything else. No one knows what might happen next.
